When last season ended, many Red Wings fans were hoping to see Zach Parise and Ryan Suter at Joe Louis Arena, except they were supposed to be wearing the winged wheel. Instead, Parise and Suter signed with the Minnesota Wild and come to Joe Louis Arena tonight as the opponent.
Parise is tied with Dany Heatley for the team lead in points with four (one goal, three assists) but Suter hasn’t fared quite as well. He is pointless through three games and is -4 in the plus/minus department.
The Red Wings offense, especially on the power play, needs to get on track to help turn around a -6 goal differential through just three games. Help is on its way as Darren Helm and Todd Bertuzzi are expected to make their season debuts tonight. Jakub Kindl will also make his season debut for the Red Wings defense.
Prediction: Red Wings 2, Wild 1
