Henrik Zetterberg Will Be in Detroit Red Wings' Lineup Tonight

The Detroit Red Wings’ season got off to an inauspicious start thanks to a 6-0 road loss to the St. Louis Blues. The Blues have proven to be no joke, opening the season with a 6-1-0 record to place themselves among the NHL’s best.

Now it is the Red Wings’ turn to host the Blues. If they are to avenge the opening night embarrassment, they will need an all-hands-on-deck effort. Whether they would be able to get that was in doubt yesterday when Henrik Zetterberg did not practice.

The news is much better today with Zetterberg confirming that he will play. Zetterberg took part it today’s skate after resting yesterday as a result of a sore throat and fever.

Zetterberg ranks second on the team with seven points. He has a goal and an assist on the power play, a unit the Red Wings desperately need to get going. Missing Zetterberg in the lineup wouldn’t let that happen.

The game starts at 7:30 p.m. ET and can be seen on Fox Sports Detroit or heard on AM1270.
