You’ve heard of “Selection Sunday”, the day when the NCAA (Division I) Tournament bracket is unveiled, well today was “Matchup Monday” for the world of Division III.
Just one team from the state of Michigan was selected for the tournament. The Calvin Knights won the MIAA Tournament (and thereby received an automatic bid), but no team from the state received one of the 19 at-large berths. Calvin will travel to Terre Haute, Indiana next Saturday to face Rose-Hulman for the opening round with the victor to face the winner of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and Nortwestern (Minnesota) the following weekend.

In women’s hoops, the Hope Flying Dutch received the MIAA automatic bid, but Calvin also found their way into the field of 64 via an at-large bid.
