Jonas Gustavsson to Make First Start for Detroit Red Wings Tonight

The Detroit Red Wings held a slim 1-0 lead heading into the third period in Los Angeles last night but couldn’t pull out the win, falling 2-1.

It was a disappointing result despite largely playing well but they won’t have to let it linger in their minds very long. The Wings get back on the ice tonight, this time in San Jose to face the Sharks.

Jonas Gustavsson will make his first start as a member of the Detroit Red Wings after spending three season with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was supposed to be the team’s primary backup but hasn’t been in position to make a start because of a groin issue.

The team needs a strong performance from Gustavsson considering last night’s loss and a tough Western Conference opponent that the Red Wings will battle with for playoff position.
