Michigan Wolverines Look For Revenge Against Michigan State Spartans

It wasn’t a pretty sight the last time the Michigan men’s basketball team took the floor against the rival Michigan State Spartans, at least as far as the Wolverines are concerned. A raucous Breslin Center crowd fueled an incredible performance by the Spartans that ended in a 75-52 blow out.

Michigan, fresh off an embarrassing loss in Happy Valley that gave the Penn State Nittany Lions their first conference win of the season, has a lot of questions to answer as their status as Final Four contenders is very much in doubt.

The Wolverines don’t have to worry about making the NCAA tournament, that is already a lock. But they do have to avoid a late-season death spiral that could lead to a lower seed and potentially a longer road trip for the tournament’s opening weekend. The Palace of Auburn Hills will host second and third round games and keeps the Wolverines close to home if they can earn a high seed.

Currently projected a three seed by ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi, a win over the Spartans today could get the Wolverines back on the two line.

Will it happen? Vegas thinks so, installing the Wolverines as five point favorites.

Here are all the details for today’s game:
