Overrated Michigan Wolverines Get Early Exit From Big Ten Tourney

It is unthinkable and inexcusable.  The #6 Michigan Wolverines losing in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament.  That is unless you thought the Michigan Wolverines shouldn’t have been ranked that high in the first place.

Going into today’s game the maize and blue were 5-5 in their last 10 games.  In what world does a team going 5-5 down the stretch remain #6 in the country? Seems the lenses have finally come out of the sports world’s maize and blue colored glasses. Now maybe the writers who vote in these polls will see the Michigan Wolverine basketball team for what it is. A group of individual players wearing the same yellow uniforms. Yellow being an appropriate color for a team that shrinks in the spotlight on the road.

Maybe a little harsh but with great expectations comes great criticism when you fall short. Especially in the way this team did today.

I think this will put to bed the debate about whether or not the Michigan Wolverine program has surpassed their rivals in East Lansing.

The loss puts even more pressure on a team that has completely collapsed under the weight of it’s NBA dreams. If they get higher than a 3 seed they need to take the selection committee out for dinner and a movie. They need a tourney run and bad.  But with the way this team plays on the road don’t count on it. It is apparent this team plays a soft as a roasted marshmallow on the road.  All melty and gooey. You can bet the other tourney teams will be looking to bring the fire stick.

But we all know that the NCAA selection committee will inexplicably give the Michigan Wolverines a #2 seed and will luck out drawing a team  from the Horizon League. I guess it will be fun to write about when they lose.
