NCAA Tournament History Was Made, But Not the Kind that Would Have Cost Little Caesars

The Florida Gulf Coast men’s basketball team has made history as the lowest seeded team to advance to the sweet 16. Fortunately for Little Caesars, FLGC has done it as a 15 seed and not a 16 seed.

Why? Because had a 16 seed beaten a one seed, Little Caesars would be giving out a whole lot of crazy bread. Here are the details:

If any of the 16-seeded college men’s basketball championship tournament teams from the four regions beat a 1-seeded team during the games played March 21-22, 2013, Little Caesars will give away one free order of Crazy Bread to every family that goes to a store and mentions the offer on Monday, April 8, 2013.

Little Caesars was betting that this wouldn’t be the year a 16 seed would knock off a one seed for the first time. With a 15 seed advancing to the sweet 16 for the first time, a 16 seeds first tournament win could be just around the corner.

So don’t worry Tigers fans, Don Kelly is making the team because he earned it, not because the Ilitch family needs to worry about giving out some free bread.
