Oakland Athletics VS Detroit Tigers Series Preview

The Oakland Athletics keep rolling.  They have won eight straight and just swept the Angels to raise their record to 8-2.  Tonight they welcome the Detroit Tigers for a three game set. The A’s will try to avenge their elimination from the 2012 playoffs at the hands of the Men from Mo-Town. To do it however they will face the best the Tigers rotations has to offer facing Verlander, Scherzer and Sanchez.

Torii Hunter and the Detroit Tigers offense will bring their hot bats and put the A’s pitching staff to the test.  The Motor City Kitties just got done destroying the Toronto Blue Jays starting rotation by scoring 23 runs over three games.  They also banged out double digit hits in every game of the series.

Hears how the starting pitchers match up:

Friday April 12th 10:05 pm EST

Max Scherzer (1-0 7.20 ERA) vs Bartolo Colon (1-0 4.50 ERA)

Max gave up some runs his last outing but struck out 7. Bartolo Colon is coming back from a 50 game suspension for steroid use.

Saturday April 13th 4:05 pm EST

Justin Verlander (1-1 2.19 ERA) vs Brett Anderson (1-1 1.38 ERA)

This is probably the best pitching match-up of the series.

Sunday April 14th 4:05pm EST

Anibal Sanchez (1-0 1.50 ERA) vs Jarrod Parker (0-1 6.48 ERA)
