Sources Say Lions Willing Trade Back To 20′s In NFL Draft

Rumors our swirling around the Lions 5th overall pick. From ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper predicting the Lions will trade up with the Kansas City Chiefs 1st overall pick to select Alabama cornerback Dee Milliner, too CBSSports Jason La Canfora saying the Lions are willing to trade back all-the-way to the 20′s if a trade partner shows itself.

He cites sources, saying “Detroit, at fifth overall, would be willing to fall all the way back to the 20s, sources said, to pick up value along the way” and value is what the Lions need. With “can’t miss” defensive ends nowhere to be seen, the Lions would be wise to stockpile draft picks in this upcoming class. The hierarchy of the class is slim, but La Canfora states teams graded nearly 45 players that could go in the early part of the second round.

Last week, we proposed a trade down scenario for the Lions that was later backed up by Rotoworlds Josh Norris in his mock draft with trades.

In La Canfora’s article, he cites the Lions looking at guard if they can’t trade back. He says Chance Warmack could become the safest bet in this class and the Lions could bite.

If the Lions decide to stand pat, players like Milliner, Ezekiel “Ziggy” Ansah, and Eric Fisher could be in play.

With the draft a week away, the Lions fans will know soon what the teams draft plans look like.

i thinks they should stay at 5 and take Fisher. They need O-line and this years draft is the place to get it. Besides Fisher is one of those can’t miss draft picks.
