Rumors Swirl Around Lions Fifth Pick

The Lions have proven time and again they’re an aggressor in the NFL draft. They moved up to grab Javid Best, Mikel Leshoure and Tahir Whitehead while making bold selections of Titus Young and Brandon Pettigrew to aid quarterback Matthew Stafford.

Today, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported the Lions have made calls to move back from their fifth pick. He later said the Atlanta Falcons and the Miami Dolphins have show interest in moving up, although no correlation with the Lions was made.

Bleacher Reports NFL associate editor Ian Kenyon took too those speculations and made his own assumption.

He then went on to retract Austin to the Lions at the fifth pick, by speculating the Dolphins may move up to grab tackle Lane Johnson — barring the Lions don’t select him.

Many – including Bleacher Reports lead draft analyst Sigmund Bloom — agreed with him, saying he may intrigue Martin Mayhew enough to pair him with Calvin Johnson.

The Lions have made bold moves before, would the Lions selecting Tavon Austin surprise you?
