Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that league sources say that Dee Milliner and Dion Jordan will probably miss OTA’s due to offseason labrum surgery. That also means they could have to start the season on the PUP list.
Alabama cornerback Dee Milliner and Oregon linebacker Dion Jordan, who each underwent offseason surgery for a torn labrum, are expected to miss organized team activities and open training camp on the physically unable to perform list, league sources said. Both players, however, are expected to be ready well before the regular season begins, the sources said. Jordan underwent surgery in late February, and Milliner had his operation in March. Both players worked out for scouts at the league’s scouting combine in February. Milliner is ranked No. 4 in Scouts Inc.’s top 32 players available and Jordan is No. 6.
This news should drastically change the Lions 2013 NFL Draft board. The Detroit Lions need immediate contribution from their first round pick. The Lions can ill afford to draft another player with injury history in the first round ala Ernie Sims. Martin Mayhew and the Lions brain trust must be sure these players will be healthy to start the season. If not they could have some very angry Lions fans on their hands.
