Detroit Tigers Play Free Baseball In Houston


It took 14 innings but the Detroit Tigers finally beat the Astros at Minute Maid Park on Thursday. After a shut-out inning from newly recalled Luke Putkonen the Tigers broke through in the top of the 14th with 4 runs.  And the player who knocked in the Game winner,  none other than Don Kelly who entered the game in the eighth inning as a pinch runner for Victor Martinez.

With Jackson on base the Astros walked Cabrera and Fielder loading the bases to get to Don Kelly hitting in the fifth spot. The DK Broiler made them pay with a RBI single that would end up being the game winner.  The Samoan Slugger Matt Tuiassosopo added two more with a double and Jhonny Peralta scored Don Kelly with a sacrifice fly.

Luke Putkonen came back in the bottom of the 14th and struck out three to finish off the Astros.
