Darius Slay had knee surgery yesterday.  It was just minor and described by the Detroit Lions as preventative. According to a report by ESPN’s Adam Schefter league sources say he will be ready for training camp.

This shouldn’t be too concerning for Lions fans as nearly every player coming out of the draft has some sort of injury history. minor surgery is almost routine for today’s professional athlete.  According to reports the Lions had Slay rated as a first round pick on the draft board despite the minor knee injury.

Although these things are routine, as a fan you still don’t like to hear about your 2nd round draft pick having knee surgery. If Slay does return for training camp and can be an active participant then that’s fine with me.  Isn’t lions luck though that some kind of complication will arise forcing him to miss signicant time?  Lets hope that’s not the case and the Lions new CB is ready willing and able when training camp rolls around.
