Brady Hokes Comments About Notre Dame Inspire #meatchicken Tweets

Notre Dame recently informed Michigan Athletic Director Dave Brandon that they would be cancelling the series of games between the two rivals after the 2014 season.

Notre Dame remains independent in football but recently agreed to move all other sports to the Atlantic Coast Conference.  As part of the deal Notre Dame will play 5 ACC opponents during the regular season starting in 2015.

Apparently upset about the schedule change, Brady Hoke had this to say at a Michigan Alumni banquet in Grand Rapids:

You know comments like this wouldn’t take long to get back to the Irish players and their fans. Louis Nix III responded on twitter with a blast of his own.

Not sure what this tweet means. Does Louis Nix realize that he is being called a chicken? So does this tweet mean that he and the rest of the Irish will taste delicious on September 7th? Are the Irish planning on eating themselves? What is #meatchicken? And why am I hungry? All important questions at await an answer.

It doesn’t have to make sense to me  but it makes sense to Irish fans because # meatchicken has apparently become the twitter battle cry for Notre Dame’s 2013 season!

Maybe he (Nix) could have said it a little better. That said # meatchicken seems to have fired up the Irish fan base and should make for some interesting stadium signs when the two rivals meet on September 7th.
