LA Angels Trounce Detroit Tigers Again

That is 5 in a row that the Los Angeles Angels have beaten the Detroit Tigers.  For some reason the Angels, who were 10 games under .500 to start the series, just have the Tigers number.

The Detroit Tigers had a lead going into the 6th inning but the Angels Eric Aybar tagged Alvarez for a two-run homer to take the lead 4-3.  That was the second home-run allowed by Alvarez after Mike Trout went yard in the third inning with a man on.

The normally outstanding Drew Symly couldn’t hold down the Angels either as Mike Trout, Josh Hamilton and Alberto Callaspo all knocked in RBI in the 7th inning.

The Tigers would push one more across in the eighth but it wasn’t enough as the Tigers fell 7-4.

The Tigers had no trouble getting men on base.  The trouble was getting them home.  The Tigers had 12 hits and two walks while leaving 4 runners on base in scoring position.

Detroit had achieved a season high 10 games over .500 coming into this game.  They need to avoid a sweep today as Doug Fister opposes Jared Weaver Thursday afternoon at Comerica Park.  First pitch is 1:08 pm and you can catch the action on Fox Sports Detroit.
