Detroit Pistons Sign Chauncey Billups

Mr. Big Shot is back in Mo-Town.  As first reported by Yahoo! Sports, Chauncey Billups has returned to the Pistons on a two Year deal worth a total of $5 million.  Detroit Pistons fans remember the contribution Billups made during the Pistons 2004 championship season and the dominate teams in the years preceding that. Joe Dumars remembers too.  That is why he is bringing Chauncey Billups back to play a role as point guard of the bench and  mentor point guard Brandon Knight.

Chauncey Billups is credited by some with mentoring Carmello Anthony while playing with the Denver Nuggets. Dumars is betting he can do the same for Brandon Knight. This moves signals Joe’s confidence in Knight and his ability to develop into a solid NBA point guard. Even if the fans believe that Brandon Knight can’t be a point guard in the NBA, it is clear that Joe Dumars thinks he can.
