MLB Trade Rumors: Detroit Tigers Interested In Tim Lincecum

What the freak? Tim Lincecum to the Detroit Tigers?  A story but Fox Sports Jon Morosi says it could be a possibility. This is what he writes in a recent article about Lincecum:

Multiple sources told me recently that some teams — the Tigers are one — have interest in acquiring Lincecum as a reliever for the stretch drive. Of course, that presumes that the Giants will become sellers at the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline. That’s far from certain, even with a 43-50 record.

The “Freak” in a Tiger uniform?  Intersting possibility.  As many Tiger fan remember, the Giants used Lincecum with much success during their 2012 world series championship run. Although, Lincecum has reestablished himself in the Giants rotation as of late and could have value to the Tigers as a fifth starter as well if Dave Dombrowski is willing to part with former first round pick Rick Porcello.

More and more, the Tigers are being linked to rumors involving a starting pitcher which may signal Dombrowski’s desire to upgrade the fifth spot in the rotation.  That means Rick Porcello could be on the move as well.
