Could the Detroit Tigers be targeting Francisco Rodriguez at the 2013 MLB trade deadline? Buster Olney from ESPN citing sources from within the Detroit Tigers organization, tweeted this weekend that the Tigers have an interest in K-Rod?
There is some hope in the Tigers’ organization that when the dust settles, they will be the team that lands Francisco Rodriguez. We’ll see.

There has been no offer made as of yet. But reading between the tweets, when Buster Olney tweets “when the dust settles” that may indicate the Detroit Tigers will have patience in the trade market and let values establish themselves.
Francisco Rodriguez would be a great choice for the Tigers. He has closing experience and a change of scenery to a contending team could inspire great performance.
Problem is the price.
Although K-Rod does have a few miles on him, the Detroit Tigers won’t be the only team calling the Brewers to inquire about a trade. The price could get as high as Nick Castellanos or Avisail Garcia. Either way the prospect of trading away a prospect for relief help is not the best case scenario for Dave Dombrowski and the Tigers.
