According the Danny Knobler of CBS, The Detroit Tigers are split on Houston Astro’s closer Jose Veras.
Tigers people are said to be split on Veras, by the way. If I had to guess, they don’t go for him. But some pushing for him.

The 32-year-old closer has had a breakout season with the Houston Astros posting a 3.12 ERA with a WHIP of 1.041and saving 18 games for the hapless Astros.
Veras has had an up and down career and was not offered a contract by the Milwaukee Brewers at the end of 2012. Houston decided to take a chance on Veras and signed to be the teams closer a gamble that could pay off big for the Astros who will probably acquire a minor league prospect to help with the rebuilding effort.
Jose Veras may be a very affordable choice for the Tigers who are trying to acquire and extra arm with-out sacrificing top prospects. The Astros have needs at nearly every position on the diamond, save second base, and the Tigers have a few extra outfielders they could offer. Matt Tuiasoppo , Avisail Garcia and Andy Dirks are all candidates to head the other way in a trade for a reliever.
