After being drafted in the second round by the Detroit Pistons, Peyton Siva has been waiting to see if he would play for the team the drafted him. Siva impressed many during the NBA’s summer league but the Detroit Pistons roster was full and it looked like Siva may have to play overseas for a year if he wanted to be a Piston.
That changed when Joe Dumars acquired Brandon Jennings from the Milwaukee Bucks opening up 2 roster spots. It was speculated the Siva would be signed to fill one of those spots. Today Rick Pitino has told ESPN that Peyton Siva has indeed inked a deal with the Pistons.

Peyton Siva joins an already crowded Pistons back court with Brandon Jennings, Kyle Singler, Chauncey Billups, Rodney Stuckey, Will Bynum and fellow rookie Kentavious Caldwell-Pope already under contract. Siva will most certainly benefit from the tutelage of Chauncey Billups and may factor in some playing time if Jow Dumars send Rodney Stuckey packing at the trade deadline.
