Recovering from what? The Lions won’t say but Ziggy Ansah seems to be getting close to playing again.  Ansah, the fifth overall pick in the draft, ran with trainers today after no practicing since August 24th.  Ziggy Ansah took a hit two days after the Detroit Lions exhibition win over the Patriots.  The hit knocked him out of practice and sent him to the locker room after stretching exercises the next day.  The Lions would not comment on the injury but media sources have speculated that concussion symptoms sidelined the rookie defensive end.

The Lions will released the first injury report of the season today.  If Ansah is still experiencing symptoms after running at practice today, he could be listed as having a concussion.  If Ansah does have a concussion, he will have to undergo an evaluation from an independent neurologist and receive clearance before returning to the field.

Defensive line is one of the deepest position groups on the 2013 roster. However it would still be a worrisome loss for fans, especially in the wake of Javid Best’s recent retirement related to concussion symptoms.
