The Central Michigan Chippewas got ahead early on their trip to Sin City.  But they ended up leaving Las Vegas like everyone else completely tapped out.

The Chips got a couple of early touchdowns from sophomore running back Saylor Lavallii. Wide Receiver Titus Davis added another on a Cooper Rush touchdown pass. Cooper Rush ended up passing for 265 yards but threw two interceptions in the fourth quarter. Those turnovers helped UNLV score 31 unanswered points and led to the Chips 31-21 loss. The loss drops their record to 1-2on the season.

The Chippewas missed a golden opportunity to pick up a win on the road against and inferior opponent. The Chips will have their work cut out for them as the schedule doesn’t get any easier. They welcome the Toledo Rockets to Kelly Shorts Stadium next week.
