Prince Fielder's Bat is Heating up

Prince Fielder is hitting .378 with 3 home runs and 10 RBIs in the month of September.  This is his highest batting average in a month since April.  With Jim Leyland refusing to rest Cabrera even though he is hitting .178  with 0 home runs and 3 RBI Fielder’s outburst is much-needed right now.  Hopefully his hot hitting will continue into October if they make the playoffs.

Prince Fielder’s off the field issues have affected him this year, but with this recent outburst I believe he has put them in the rear view mirror.  This will benefit the Tigers for the rest of the season and into the playoffs.  Even if Miguel Cabrera is down Fielder has carried teams before and can again.

This is why you pay for a whole team and not rely on one player to carry you, even if that player is the best hitter in the game today.   Since Miguel has gotten injured he has constantly said that as long as the doctors say he can play, and Miguel does not ask to come out he is gonna play him.  Newsflash Jim, players do not ask to come out even if there hurt, do your job and rest him.   I was under the impression that Jim Leyland was the manager but since he has decided to let the inmates run the prison maybe he should give his salary back to the Tigers.

Miguel Cabrera told ESPN Deportes that once they clinch he will rest, if this takes the rest of the season he will get zero rest before the playoffs.  This will definitely hurt their chances at ending a 29 year World Series drought.  Tiger fans are bursting at the seams waiting for the drought to end. Lets not waste the best hitter in baseball in the regular season. We will need him for the playoffs.
