Western Michigan Broncos Winless After Loss To Northwestern

The P.J. Fleck era has begun with a resounding thud.  After a close game with Michigan State to open the season, the Western Michigan Broncos have lost their third straight game. The latest loss coming at the hands of the Northwestern Wildcats 38-17.

There is no shame for a MAC team losing to a Big Ten opponent. That said it is how the Broncos are losing that is especially frustrating.  The Broncos look like they can play with anybody in football…..for a half. WMU had a 10-7 lead midway through the second quarter. Then Northwestern scored 24 unanswered points to control the game and eventually win, giving Western Michigan an 0-3 record.

Bronco’s wide receiver Corey Davis continues to shine.  Davis gained 116 yards, 75 of which came on a touchdown pass from Tyler VanTubbergen. Corey Davis really showed his speed on this scoring play catching the ball and pulling away from the Wildcats defensive backfield.

Western could start 0-4 after they travel to Iowa next week.  The Hawkeyes were already upset by a MAC team this year and don’t expect them to overlook the Broncos.

For the latest on the Western Michigan Broncos stay logged on to Detroit Jock City.
