The Michigan Wolverines travel to East Hartford Connecticut to take on the UConn Huskies this weekend. The Wolverines are coming off an awkward win against the Akron Zips. A win that required a last-minute defensive by the Wolverines to secure the victory.
Now the Wolverines have to travel to Connecticut to meet the Huskies who are 0-2 on the season and badly need a win before their season gets out of control. This is a dangerous game for the Wolverines who have shown that they can lose concentration when playing inferior opponents. That said don’t expect the Wolverines to make the same mistake twice and overlook the Huskies. Michigan Offensive linemen and captain Taylor Lewan said the team has learned its lesson.
“We needed that,” senior left tackle Taylor Lewan said. “This team needed that. I think we were a tough, hard-nosed football team, and then we kind of got away from that this week. I think that was coach Hoke giving us a reality check.”
“I don’t have any doubt in my mind that this team understands what happened Saturday, that they know it’s not acceptable,” Lewan said. “They’re focused. And we’re going to prepare like no other team has ever prepared before.”
