9th Inning Comeback + 12th Inning Walk-Off = 2

White Sox starter Chris Sale was his usual self and stymied the Detroit Tigers for 7 2/3 innings. Unfortunately for Sale, the Chicago bullpen was also its usual self and gave up six to the Tigers in the bottom of the ninth. The runs scored by the Tigers erased a six-run deficit leading to a 7-6 win in the bottom of the 12th.

Andy Dirks lead the charge with a three run shot in the ninth inning to bring the Tigers within on.  Torii Hunter, who started the inning with a triple, tied the game with a sac fly sending the sell-out crowd at Comerica Park into a frenzy.  Fast forward to the 12th inning while with the basesloaded Omar Infante legged out an infield hit scoring Don Kelly from third for a 7-6 walk-off win.

The win reduces the Detroit Tigers magic number to 2 and sets up a potential clinching game tomorrow afternoon at Comerica Park. Tigers fans will definately be scoreboard watching tomorrow because they will need a loss by the Cleveland Indians to clinch the division at home.
