Tampa Bay eliminated the Texas Rangers from the playoffs 6-2 in Arlington. It is the outcome all Tiger fans should have been hoping for.  The last time the Tigers faced the Texas Rangers in the playoffs the Rangers kicked our butts.  The next outcome we should be rooting for is the Cleveland Indians to beat Tampa Bay Rays.  This would line up the next opponent nicely for the Tigers if they beat the Athletics.

Then if the Cleveland Indians beat the Boston Red Sox that would be the best case scenario for the Detroit Tigers.  We dominated Cleveland during the regular season, and that should not change in the playoffs.  The Tigers playoff hopes reside on their offense showing up.

The last 3 times the Tigers were in the playoffs their offense has failed miserably costing them winning the World Series twice and the American League Pennant once.  Everyone knows Miguel Cabrera is not 100% healthy, the other players have to step it up.  Playing Johnny Peralta in left field at least till they need a defensive replacement in the late innings is the key.  Jose Iglesias is offensively challenged and Andy Dirks, who I feel is an every day left fielder, has also not been hitting up to par this year. Playing Peralta gives the Tigers an extra bat in the line-up and hopefully gives the offense that extra kick they need to win it all this year.
