Detroit V Oakland ALDS Game 2: Preview, Start Time, TV, Radio

ALDS Game 2 between the Detroit Tigers and Oakland Athletics will happen in front of another raucous crowd in Oakland California.  After losing Game 1 last night, the Athletics will try to avoid going back to Detroit down 0-2.

The Athletics will send rookie Sonny Gray to the mound to oppose Justin Verlander. Sonny Gray has only 10 career major league starts but has had early success and a big reason for Oakland’s success down the stretch.

Justin Verlander was moved to number two in the Tigers play-off rotation because of Max Scherzer’s Cy Young type season. Verlander has not been as good as in recent seasons but looked to be returning to form in September.

Overlooked in the Marlin No-hitter of the Tigers on the last game of the regular season was Justin Verlander’s performance.  Verlander was the losing pitcher in that game but lost on an unearned run in the bottom of the ninth.  If not for the pass ball by Pena, the story may have been Verlanders complete game shut-out of the Marlins.
