The Miami Heat beat the Detroit Pistons on Thursday night at the Palace of Auburn Hills 112-107.  This was the second preseason game for the Pistons and an early measuring stick against last years world champions.

Wil Bynum and Andre Drummond led the scoring with 28 and 21 points respectively and although the Pistons didn’t beat the heat they did impress their MVP.

LeBron James has been paying attention to the Pistons off-season moves. After practice on Wednesday, LeBron indicated that he thinks the Pistons may be a team on the rise.

I think only time will tell, but they definitely improved their roster bringing in Jennings and Josh, and Big Shot [Billups] as well,” James said after Wednesday’s practice. “[On] paper, they look like they can be pretty good this year.”

“No individual can do it by himself,” James said. “But they have a lot of talent. If they buy into what Mo Cheeks is trying to preach to them, then they’re really going to be pretty good.”

Pistons fans will judge those comments based on their personal opinion of LeBron James. Whether you love him or hate him when LeBron talks about basketball you have to give what he says a lot of credibility. If what Lebron thinks about the Pistons holds true, we could be having playoff basketball this season at the palace.
