2013 ALCS Preview

On Saturday October 12th, the Detroit Tigers and Boston Red Sox kick off the what promises to be an epic series in the 2013 ALCS.  The tigers have are coming off a series against Oakland where they had to win two straight elimination games to advance.  Boston took the opposite approach and got up on the Tampa Bay Rays early in their series and finished them off in 4 games.

Boston had a better regular season record than Detroit, so the opening game will take place in Boston. Because they finished their series early, Boston was able to set their rotation where Detroit has to use ALDS Game 3 starter Anibal Sanchez to open the series.

Here are the probable pitchers and rotation for both teams

Game 1: Detroit’s Anibal Sanchez v Boston’s Jon Lester

Game 2: Max Scherzer v Clay Buchholz

Game 3: Justin Verlander v John Lackey

Game 4: Doug Fister v Jake Peavy

Game 5, 6,7 to be announced if necessary
