ALCS Game 2 Tigers V Red Sox: Preview, Start Time, TV, Radio

After nearly combining for a no-hitter last night, the Detroit Tigers will try to continue their pitching dominance tonight against the Boston Red Sox.

The ALCS Game 2 pitching match-up will feature the Detroit Tigers Max Scherzer, 2013 Cy Young candidate against would be candidate Clay Buchholz.  Buchholz went 12-1 in 2013 after missing a large stretch of the season. He and the Red Sox can only think about what could have been if he was able to remain healthy for the entire season.

As good a regular season Buchholz had, the postseason is an altogether different. Buchholz got knocked around a bit in the ALDS against Tampa Bay giving up 3 runs in six innings. On the other hand, Scherzer blanked the A’s in game 1 of the ALDS and pitched brilliantly out of the bullpen in Game 4.

In the opener of the ALCS the Tigers had no trouble getting on base. They had trouble scoring base runners. The Tigers had 12 baserunners last night and it took a single from Jhonny Peralta to score just one of them. Detroit will try to turn some of those singles into extra bases tonight in Game 2 and build on the hitting they got last night.
