The Michigan Wolverines Drop Out Of AP Top 25 After Loss To Penn State

One of the shocking outcomes from Saturdays slate of NCAA football was Michigan’s upset loss to Penn State. Everyone expected Michigan to come into Beaver Stadium and take care of business preserving their undefeated record.  But the Nittany Lions had different ideas. It took them 4 overtimes but when the dust settled Penn State was victorious.

The loss drops the Wolverines out of the AP Top 25 for the first time this season.

The only two Big Ten team still ranked in the top 25 are Ohio State (4) and Wisconsin (25). Northwestern dropped from #19 out of the poll after losing to Wisconsin this weekend.

Week 8’s AP poll doesn’t do much to help the Big Ten’s standings as one of the Elite conferences in college football.  The only conference represented in the Top 25 to have fewer teams ranked than the Big Ten is the Mid American Conference. (Northern Illinois)
