ALCS Game 4: Detroit Tigers V Boston Red Sox, Preview, Start Time, TV, Radio


The Detroit Tigers will try to even the series against the Boston Red Sox in Game 4 from Comerica Park.  Doug Fister will take the mound for the Tigers against Boston’s Jake Peavy. Jake Peavy has pitched well against the Tigers in his career holding them to a .243 average.

Jake Peavy was brought in by the Red Sox for the stretch run at the trade deadline.  He was part of a three team trade that landed the Tigers Rookie of the Year candidate Jose Iglesias.  The white sox got tiger porspect Avisial Garics. Although comparing a position player to a pitcher is like comparing apples to oranges, a fan can compare the impact each player has on their team. Tonight game could be an early indicator of which team got the best of the deal.

Jim Leyland also announced a shake-up in the line-up moving the struggling Austin Jackson down to the eighth spot and Torii Hunter up to the lead-off spot.  Cabrera also moves up in the order to number two with Prince Fielder taking his spot at number three. Leyland is hoping the shake up can inspire an Tigers offense that has been feast or famine this postseason.
