What was thought to be one of the weaker Michigan State Spartans offenses in years is coming into its own behind quarterback Connor Cook. Cook had another solid game last week vs Indiana throwing for 235 yards a 2 touchdowns. The running game is benefiting from Cook’s success in the Spartans balanced offensive attack. Running Back Jeremy Langford had his best game of the year rushing for 109 yards and 3 touchdowns.
The Spartans (5-1) will be looking to build on their success against a rebuilding Boilermaker team under the leadership of first year head coach Darnell Hazell. Hazell was signed to a six-year deal after impressive seasons as Kent State’s head man.
Hazell came to a Boilermaker team with little talent and has had a rocky start to his tenure. The Boilermakers are 1-5 and are looking for their first signature win of the Hazell era. This game could be a trap game for the Spartans who face Michigan in a couple of weeks.
