Just like a line in a bad 80′s movie, sometimes what you are looking for is right in front of you.  That could be the case for Dave Dombrowski as he searches for the next Detroit tigers manager. But it remains to be seen if any the internal candidates are someone he can fall in love with.

Dombrowski said at Leylands retirement press conference that the new Detroit Tigers manager should have major league experience.  Although he also said he wouldn’t rule anyone out.

Well there are several candidates within the Tigers organization that could match the criteria.  In an offeseson that likely include a couple of major trades it may be worth it for the Tigers to hire someone who will keep the current coaching staff together.

With Jim Leyland advising on the search, you can bet the guys who have been beside him the last eight years will at least get an interview.
