NO DEAL! Detroit Lions Stand Pat At NFL Trade Deadline

The 2013 NFL Trade Deadline came in like a Lions but went out like a lamb. Over the last couple pf days names like Jared Allen, Kenny Britt, Hakeem Nicks Josh Gordon and even Adrian Peterson were mentioned in trade rumors.  But at the end of the day there was only one minor move made by the Patriots acquiring Issac Sopoaga and a sixth round pick for a 5th round pick.

The Lions were among the teams involved in rumors about trading for a wide receiver.  Kenny Britt, Josh Gordon and Hakeem Nicks were all rumored to be targets at one point. But the Lions held their ground apparently confident that Nate Burleson’s return would fill the need at Wide Receiver.

No moves mean that tradeable assets like Mikel Leshoure and Kellen Moore will remain on the Lion inactive list week after week. That said it is nice to talk about depth on a Lions team that hasn’t had it in recent years.

Detroit Lions broadcaster Dan Miller and Detroitlions.com insider weighed on the trade deadline via twitter.

So go Lions fans hopes of opening an October Christmas present. But the Lions are 5-3 isn’t that gift enough?

No it’s not! What difference does it make that they make the Playoffs when they will get eliminated the first round? They should’ve made a move to make themselves competitive in the playoffs! Detroit fans who has rode with this team thorough thick and thin deserve to see them make a run at the Super Bowl at least. SAME OLE LIONS
