Nate Burleson practiced all week, fueling speculation that he may be available for the game on Sunday against the Bears.
But the Lions coaching staff is airing on the side of caution and according to Tim Twentyman of Detroitlions.com is out for the game against the Chicago Bears. The Lions just aren’t willing to risk further injury to Nate Burleson’s forearm by rushing him back to soon.
We all know how tough of a guy Nate is. If it was up to him, he probably would have missed one game. There is only so much you can do with healing bones and stuff. I think the big thing with Nate is when we do get him back, we’re going to get him back, but we want to make sure he is back for good. To do that, we have to avoid setbacks and stuff like that.”
Ziggy Ansah is listed as doubtful for the pivotal NFC North match-up on Sunday. Ansah has been fighting injury since training camp and has made regular appearances on the Lions injury report this season. Isreal Idonije and Devin Taylor are expected to get the majority of the playing time in Ziggy Ansah’s absence.
