The Michigan Wolverines host the Nebraska Cornhuskers in a key Big Ten Match-up on Saturday at the Big House. During the Monday press conference following their loss to Michigan State Brady Hoke stated that a Big Ten championship is still possible for the Wolverines.
A Big Ten championship is a long shot for Michigan at this point. In order for the Wolverines to make it to the championship game they will have to win every game remaining on the schedule.
That includes beating the Cornhuskers on Saturday.
Nebraska is second in the Legends division and can move within one game of division leader Michigan State Spartans with a win over Michigan.
The Wolverines are three games behind the Spartans and will need a lot of help to make it to the Championship game even with a win on Saturday.
In order to get the win the Wolverines will have control the clock and keep the Cornhuskers offense off the field. Taylor Lewan and the Michigan offensive line will have to protect Devin Gardner who is shell-shocked after being battered by the Spartans. If they can buy him time, Gardner can get Michigan’s explosive offense rolling and get his confidence back.
A confident Gardner could put the Wolverines one step closer to Brady Hokes dream.
