The Michigan Wolverines hit the road this week desperate for a big ten win after back to back losses at the hands of Michigan State and Nebraska.

The Wolverines are out of contention for a Big Ten Championship but are still playing for and 10 win season. In order to accomplish that they will have to win the rest of their remaining schedule not to mention win a bowl game.

Michigan Previous opponents, MSU and Nebraska, have a defensive style that was difficult for Michigan’s offensive line to contain. This week the Wolverines will face a lesser defense in the Northwestern Wildcats.  Devin Gardner should be able to get the offense rolling against the Wildcat defense that gives up 26 points a game.

The Wildcats will get a chance to kick the Wolverines while they are down. Northwestern is looking for its first Big Ten win. They are also looking to become bowl eligible.  They need two wins to accomplish eligibility with tough games against Michigan State and Illinois to follow.  This game against Michigan may be their best chance to win outside of Illinois.
