Better Lucky Than Good: Detroit Lions Still In First

The Detroit Lions loss to Tampa yesterday had fans calling them names like disgusting, pathetic, bums and same old Lions. But after the unthinkable loss to Tampa yesterday fans can aslo call the Lions something else. Lucky!

Yes lucky.

The Lions managed to stay in a first place tie with the Bears after yesterday’s loss. Chicago lost to St. Louis 42-21 and Green Bay rallied but could only tie Minnesota. So with a 6-5 record the Lions miracously in first place.

Their place in the standings won’t be secure for long if they can’t beat the Aaron Rodgers-less Packers at Ford Field on Thanskgiving. If the Lions lose on turkey day they could get leap frogged by both the Packers and Bears, that is if Chicago wins their game on Sunday.

So are lucky as the Lions are to still be in first place they will need a little more than luck to stay there after Thursday. That is to say they will have to somehow keep from truning the ball over.

But then again maybe all they need is luck.  As the old saying goes “sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good.”
