Michigan Wolverines V Ohio Buckeyes Preview, Start Time, TV

The annual game between the Wolverines and Buckeyes in 2013 features two team headed in different directions.

This years game was supposed to be a clash of the Titans after both teams landed top ten recruiting classes in 2012.  Instead only one team is looking forward to a possible National Championship berth. The other, desperately trying to salvage a disappointing season.

The Ohio State Buckeyes have not lost since Urban Meyer became head coach.  Now that the  ban on postseason play has been lifted the #3 Buckeyes are on a mission to claim what they feel is rightfully theirs, a national championship.

In order to accomplish that goal, Ohio State must get past a wounded Michigan team that has struggled with offensive consistency all season.

The Wolverines would love nothing more than to knock their arch rival off of their undefeated pedestal. A loss this late in the season to an unranked team would cost Ohio State their shot at a National Championship.  But in order to deal that kind of blow to their hated rival, Michigan is going to have to play much better than in recent weeks.

This game has always been different in some ways,” Hoke said. “Are they a good football team? Yeah. They’re a very good football team. Do we have to play better than we’ve played? I don’t think there’s any doubt about that.”

Brady Hoke has been on the hot seat in recent weeks and a win against the buckeyes would help to cool it off a bit.  A loss however would crank up the heat considerably.

Athletic Director David Brandon showed support for Hoke this week in the media. However that support could wane quickly if the Wolverines get blown out by the Buckeyes at home.
