Everyone knew that Dave Dombrowski and  Detroit Tigers weren’t done with their roster tinkering. And it hasn’t been a secret that the Tigers have been shopping their starting pitching for quite some time.

Now the speculation nis over and the other shoe has dropped.  Reports are circulating that the Tigers have traded Doug Fister to the Washington Nationals.

Doug Fister has been involved with trade rumors before. But even so most fans assumed Rick Porcello would be the one headed out of town. Seems Fister, who still has two years of club control and a history of solid postseason performance , had more trade value for the Nationals.

As Ken Rosenthal tweeted, the return package is not known.  That said the Tigers have been looking for a left fielder and the Nationals have been shooping Denard Span as of late.
