Detroit Lions V Eagles: Darius Slay Is Out Against Eagles

According to Detroitlions.com Lions insider Tim Twentyman, Darius Slay did not make the trip to Philadelphia for the game against the Eagles. Slay was diagnosed with w torn meniscus after a “freak” injury at practice on Thursday during a non-contact drill.

As you can see from Twentyman’s tweet the signing someone from the practice squad has its consequences.  WR Micheal Spurlock was released to make room on the roster for Chris Greenwood.  It is possible for Spurlock to return to the team once the CB injury situation gets sorted out.

Twentyman also had insight as to the other CBs on the Lions depth chart for the game. According to separate tweet Twentyman indicated that Bill Bently and Jonte Green would be available to play if needed.

Look for Rashean Mathis and Chris Houston to start despite being questionable.  If Chris Houston is unable to start, Bill Bently will assume starting ability.
