Detroit Lions V Philadelphia Eagles Preview, Start Time, TV, Live Stream

The 7-5 Detroit Lions travel to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles this Sunday. It is a battle of first place teams and both team need a win to stay on top of their perspective divisions.

The outcome of the game could also determine playoff position is either team fails to win their division out right. Conference record is the first tie breaker used to decide playoff position.

The teams have almost identical conference records.  Both have 6 wins with the Lions having played one more game in conference than the Eagles.  So the seventh win could be very important as both team make a push for the playoffs.

The Eagles offense has been surprising this season with the emergence of Nick Foles as a big play QB. The Eagles are right behind the Lions ranked #3 in total offense. The Eagles depend on the big lay to score points, something the Lions defense is used to practicing against.

Unfortunately the Lions will have to try to stop the Eagles down field attack with a short bench.  Cornerbacks Darius Slay(out) and Chris Houston (Questionable) were both listed on the Lions injury report.

The means the Lions will have to depend on players signed off the practice squad to fill out the depth chart in the defensive backfield. That could mean trouble for a Lions secondary who is already over matched most games.

This game will probably be a shoot out. Calvin Johnson and Matthew Stafford will have to play key roles in order for the Lions in win this one.
