Detroit Lions Call For Blue Out During Monday Night Football

The Detroit Lions have asked fans to wear blue on Monday in support of the Lions on Monday Night.  The Lions will welcome the Baltimore Ravens to Ford Field for Monday Night Football, a game most fans had circled on their calendars the day the 2013 NFL schedule was released.

The Detroit Lions are hoping that the “blue out” combined with a raucous Ford Field will help give the home team a 12th man advantage.  Ironically blue might be an appropriate color considering the Lions have been doing more losing than winning as of late.

The Lions have lost 3 of their last four games with the win coming on Thanksgiving against a walking wounded Green Bay team.  Mind you that is the same Packer team that the Lions let right back in the NFC North Division race by dropping the last two games.

Needless to say this is a must win game.

To my knowledge of Stadium gimics this is the first blue out in NFL history.  Hopefully it will be effective or fans may be singing the blues on the way home Monday night.
