Jon Gruden Would Be My Dream Head Coach For The Detroit Lions

When the Detroit Lions failed to win the NFC North this year after taking control of the division through 9 games, I felt like it was time for Jim Schwartz to be fired.

I felt like Jim Schwartz had lost control of this team and the players were no longer listening to him.  So when it was announced earlier yesterday that the Lions were indeed making the statement that losing this division in this fashion was unacceptable. I was happy.  There was one name who would my dream Head Coach for the Detroit Lions John Gruden.

The players had started to run this team and stopped listening to Jim Schwartz.  They had continued to make the same undisciplined mistakes over and over again.  The excuses never changed and they had no answers about why it continued to happen.  This team needs a leader who will have answers to those questions and can get rid of the losing culture that has invaded this franchise since the 1950’s. Jon Gruden is the best person for the job.

Jon Gruden is a disciplinarian coach and that is exactly what this team needs.  He took the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the Super Bowl and did well with the Oakland Raiders.  If he can take the sad Buccaneers to the Super Bowl certainly he can do the same for the Lions.  The Lions had talent at some positions they do need help at others, but their biggest need is for the players to be held accountable for their mistakes.

The Lions had taken on the thug personality of their coach and it was hurting the team.  The refs were looking for excuses to call penalties on the Lions and it was starting to cost them games.  The fans of this team deserve a winning football team and in my opinion Jon Gruden would be the best coach to get that done.
