Henrik Zetterberg Will Captain Red Wings Heavy Team Sweden

Turns out that The Detroit Red Wings aren’t the only team Henrik Zetterberg is Captain of.  The Red Wings center has also been named Captain of the Swedish Olympic team, according to a tweet by Helene St. James of the Free Press.

Henrik Zetterberg will be joined by a number of his Red Wings teammates on team Sweden when they take the ice for the Sochi Winter Olympics. Daniel Alfredsson, Pavel Datsyuk, Jonas Gustavsson, Johnathan Ericsson, Nicklas Kronwall and Johan Franzen have all been selected by their home country to participate in the 2014 Olympic ice hockey tournament.

Team Sweden is certain to have a strong following at this Olympic games. Sochi, Russia is just a 7 hour flight from Stockholm, Sweden and certainly many of Zetterberg’s countrymen will make the trip to watch the gold medal favorite Team Sweden play.
