Michigan Wolverines Upset #3 Wisconsin Badgers

The Michigan Wolverines snapped a long losing streak in Madison Wisconsin by upsetting the Badgers at Kohl Center 77-70. The win is Michigan’s fifth in a row as they continue to show that they are legitimate contenders for the Big Ten Championship.

Nik Stauskas led the team with 23 points and Caris LeVert also had 20 as the Wolverines led the Badgers the entire game.

In fact, at one point the Wolverines were ahead by 15 before Wisconsin mounted a comeback in the second half. However unlike last season, there were no last second Badger heroics. This time the Badger comeback stalled when Nik Stauskas nailed down the game for the Wolverines by going 6 for 6 from the free throw line in the final minute.

It was an impressive road win against a top ranked team for the Wolverines. A signature win that could have knocked Wisconsin out of Big Ten title contention.

This game was the first in a stretch of three consecutive games against top ranked teams.  On Tuesday the Wolverines host the #14 Iowa Hawkeyes and visit the #4 Michigan State Spartans on Saturday. If the Michigan Wolverines can manage to sweep these three games they will take control of the Big Ten and earn themselves a top ten ranking.
