The Super Bowl is like no other game as far as betting is concerned. Fans can bet on everything from the coin toss to the to halftime entertainment. Here are some of the most interesting Prop Bets and how we would play them.
Will Richard Sherman record an interception?
The Line: Players can on bet Yes or No.
DJC Pick: Yes! The leader of the Legion of Boom said that Peyton Manning throws “a lot of ducks”. Sherman will get his chance to intercept one of those ducks on Sunday.
Will Knowshon Moreno cry during the National Anthem?
The Line: Knowshon Moreno is known for crying after the National Anthem. Why? Tim Layden from SI.com wrote a piece answering that very question. Moreno told him the tears come after a private reflection.
It’s always been that way for me, all the way back to high school and college. During the anthem it’s always quiet and still, so I take in the moment and say a little prayer. Usually there’s no camera on me. I thank the Lord for letting me play the game. I thank Him for everything. I run through my whole life right there at that moment. Even the bad stuff.”
DJC Pick: Yes! If Moreno cries after the National anthem during a regular season game you can bet he will cry on the games biggest stage. Emotions will be running high and the tears will be flowing.
How many times will Peyton Manning say “Omaha” during the game?
The Line: 27 1/2 – In one of the most annoying revelations from this years playoffs CBS did a feature on the vernacular Manning uses while calling plays. That lead to broadcasters counting Omahas and the companies making charitable donation based on the total.
DJC Pick: Take the under. For the bookmakers to pay on this bet the word Omaha has to be said by Peyton Manning during the game and be clearly audible on TV. The annoyance factor for the Omaha story is pretty high so there is a good chance some of Peyton’s Omaha won’t be heard on TV.
Will any member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers be shirtless during their performance?
The Line: Players can pick yes or no
DJC Pick: Yes! If you are at all a fan of the Chili Peppers you know that they are known for losing articles of clothing as the performance goes on. It is a good bet that Flee will be shirtless the second he hits the stage…regardless of the temperature.
