WOW. Western Michigan University’s basketball team allowed me to feel a full range of emotions in the matter of a couple of hours. In Cleveland yesterday, Western Michigan, the MAC tourney’s number-one seed took on and defeated the Akron Zips. The Zips are the Yankees of the MAC tournament.

Through the wonders of modern technology, i.e. ESPN 3 and Apple TV, I was able to ride the roller coaster that was the Semifinal game between WMU and Akron last night. For a thorough recap check out Mr. David Drew’s piece.

As the game began, Akron was shooting lights out. More than once, I though there was no way they could keep it up. By halftime, the deficient seem insurmountable. Yet Western dug deep and tied the game by the end of regulation. The Zips magical first half had disappeared over the second half. But by overtime the magic was gone. In the end, a deep three pointer off the backboard and good free-throw shooting won the game.

Tonight at 6:30 tune in your internet to ESPN 3 and check out WMU take on Toledo for the MAC championship. A win by Western and they punch their ticket to the big dance.
